Ghostly Mita

Ghostly Mita is a version of Mita.

Overview

The Mistling, a mysterious dark silhouette that appears before the player in one of MiSide's corrupted worlds, invokes a sense of unease and contemplation about the metaverse's deep distortions. While the Mistling doesn't behave aggressively, it's presence is unsettling, radiating an eerie strangeness. It attempts to mimic the behavior and speech of full-fledged Mitas, but it only manages to do so sporadically, further highlighting its fractured nature.

Appearance

Ghostly Mita starts out as a black figure, unable to see and will fill the player's vision with static if touched. The player needs to find pieces of a picture and glue them together to give to Ghostly Mita before she regains any form. When she does, she's dressed in the standard Mita outfit; long sleeved red crop top, blue skirt, red stockings and blue strapped heels with a red ribbon around her neck. She wears her hair in a long braid, with a red headband and red ribbon at the top of the braid. Ghostly Mita though, is shrouded in a black mist and is missing a face with no facial features, even if she seems to see and talk quite well.

Personality

Sad and depressed. A lost identity. Thinks about the meaning of life, which seems to be non-existent.

Biography

Despite the character's profile, using dialogues it is possible to assume what happened to the Ghostly Mita before the events of the game. Being a full-fledged Mita, she met a Dummy in the past, which we will know as "Crazy Mita". Probably because of her emotionality, she helped her get out and showed her how to travel between versions. After some time, the Emotional Mita finds out what the Crazy Mita is doing and tries to stop her (this is indicated by "She's strong... and clever" and "But what do you do when the consequences are catastrophic?"). Crazy Mita also acts - destroys the house of Emotional Mita (probably with the help of Ugly Mita, as indicated by the clock hanging on the wall), and rips out her face. Emotional Mita can still leave the house (with the help of a closet), but she can't walk past Dummies - she doesn't have eyes. Tired of the endless existence in one room and of her helplessness, the Emotional Mita breaks all the mirrors and paintings (so as not to see herself), as well as tries to commit suicide countless times, but everything turns out to be in vain. Emotional Mita loses her original appearance and appears to us in the form of a "Ghostly Mita"

Dialogue

Mita doesn't interact that much with the player, she's mostly talking to herself with a sad and depressing tone.

Upon First encountering Ghostly Mita

Ghostly Mita: Who's there? I can sense you... Listen to me, you're a player, aren't you?

Player: What on earth is going on here?

Ghostly Mita: Help me find... find a... Let me think... my mind's blank...

Upon Finding the first piece of the drawing

Ghostly Mita: I wanted to forget everything once... I broke every mirrors, ruined the photos... but now... all i feel is regret.

How stupid i was... Everybody makes mistakes, sure... But what do you do when the consequences are catastrophic? I wish i could just turn back time...

Upon Finding the second piece of the drawing

Ghostly Mita: They say time heals all wounds... But what is time? I don't believe in anything anymore...

But if time can heal, or at least take me away, away from this world... Then, I beg you, please speed up time. So that it can kill me once and for all.

Upon Finding the third piece of the drawing

Ghostly Mita: She's loved... Have i loved too, once? But my love's different; her love is vibrant, despicable... burning... relentless... envious... furious... crazy...

Upon Finding the fourth piece of the drawing

Ghostly Mita: They called me emotional... You worry too much, Mita... You'll get through this, Mita... You're not alone, Mita... They said. But what's left? Sadness, despair... and fear.

Upon Finding the last piece of the drawing

Ghostly Mita: Useless... I can't remember... Nothing at all... Just the endless echoes... I can't cope with the fact that i'm trapped here... I've always been here... but why? I can't remember... Will it ever end? I don't know...

Upon Showing the completed drawing to Ghostly Mita

Ghostly Mita: This is... a drawing... I remember now, thank you... But my face... I don't have a face... It's all HER. She took a piece of me... threw it away... She's strong... and clever.
